To enable the First responder to recognise and deal with suspected heart attacks anywhere that has the facility for the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.
Course content
Recognising the signs and symptoms of a possible heart attack.
Understanding coronary heart disease.
Understanding the difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest.
How to deal with a heart attack.
How to deal with a cardiac arrest.
How to carry out CPR.
Understand how the heart signals relate to the AED.
Understanding survival rates.
Be able to fully understand and operate an Automated External Defibrillator.
Skill base:
